Hello Everyone, Well it seems as though the weather is getting nicer and that might mean that spring is around the corner. That also means that football will be starting up again. Just wondering what the scoop is on things? Ie. when is registration, any new rule changes, how are the teams going to look, etc. Can't wait for the season to start!

Registration is Wednesday, March 26, from 7-9 PM at the Morden Rec. Centre. There will be some rule changes. The biggest one involves a form of blitzing. I don't know what the teams are going to look like until registration is complete and I know how many players we have. I will keep everyone updated on the website when there is any new information

Unless we get 12 more guys to sign up we are going to have 4 teams this year. We already have 10 guys on the sub-list, which are guys that mostly can't commit to the Fall season.

I see. I might not be able to play in the fall either. Depends what happens with the rosters. So, what's gonna happen with the rosters?

Each captain will be keeping two players from last years rosters. There will be four teams this year.

You had talked about restricting which players can be kept. But this is any two players?

Yes, this is any two players. Due to downsizing to four teams and a lot of players not returning, it should shake things up plenty.

Well it looks like our season will start May 4 and break for the summer after the June 29 games. There will be NO bye weeks this year with the exception of Victoria Day weekend, May 18. The season will resume September 6 and the Championship Game will be played October 11, which happens to be the Thanksgiving weekend. Although the season has been shortened, we will still play the same amount of games (12). Every team will make the playoffs this year.
Due to no bye weeks, there will be no team to ref the 2 games every week. I would ask that everybody would take a turn at this, especially the veteran guys. Just remember that everyone wants to have 3 refs at the game they're playing in, so please be considerate of the other players and take a turn reffing. I don't want to hear the excuse that you don't know the rules well enough, because if you can't learn them to ref then you probably can't play by them either. I will make sure that there is always an experienced ref there with you, so that you can confer as a group and make the correct call. If you have rule questions, ASK me or your captain. There will be NO STATS this year, unless someone from each team dedicates their time to doing it. If you want to do it every week, let me know.
The teams will be made on Thursday, so I would imagine that whoever your captain is will call you ASAP. If for some reason you don't hear from anyone just check the website daily.
Let's have some fun this year guys!!

The teams are set........your captains should be contacting you soon as to which team you will be on. Ask your captain for a schedule and list of rules. There will be an exhibition game at Lion's park in Morden on April 27 at 2:00PM. If you have a jersey that you need to trade in from last year, please do so no later than April 27 at the exhibition game. You can give the jersey to me or to your captain before that time if you like. Hope to see you all there.
